Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MLBAnalytic (“we,” “us,” or “mlbanalytic.com” — the site and its owner) handles information when you visit this website. MLBAnalytic is an independent, content-only baseball-analytics site; who runs it is described on how this site is made. We sell nothing, and we do not ask you to create an account.

Information we collect

We do not directly collect personal information such as your name or email address unless you choose to send it to us — for example, by emailing contact@mlbanalytic.com. Messages you send are used only to respond to you.

The site is a set of static files served by Microsoft IIS on a server the owner operates; there is no database, no login and no form that posts anywhere. Like any web server, it writes standard request logs — your IP address, browser and device type, the referring page and the pages you view — and the analytics described below record the same kind of technical data. We read it in aggregate, to understand traffic and improve the site.

Cookies and advertising

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

• Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. The site’s core content works without them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-SK463PB7C0) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are viewed, approximate (IP-based) location, device and browser type, and how visitors move through the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on our behalf; we review it only in aggregate and never use it to identify you personally. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied until you answer a consent banner (Google’s certified Funding Choices message). Everywhere else they default to granted, so analytics and advertising cookies may be set unless you decline through a consent or opt-out message shown to you, or block cookies in your browser. Data sources and third-party links

Articles link to and pull public data from third parties such as Baseball Savant, the MLB Stats API, and Baseball-Reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

Children’s privacy

This site is written for adults who follow baseball statistics: the material is technical, the tutorials assume some Python, and nothing here is aimed at, promoted to, or designed to appeal to children. It is not a mixed-audience site, and it carries no games, characters, or child-directed features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13; if you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California, among others — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal information held about you, and to opt out of its sale (we sell no personal information to anyone). Because we collect almost none, such requests are usually simple: email contact@mlbanalytic.com and we will answer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
